Zilla Lacquers

Zilla Lacquer ~ Winter Blues and Glitter Bombs

You may remember I reviewed Zilla Lacquer a couple months ago, so I was excited for the opportunity to try these awesome polishes again. And as expected they did not disappoint! This is a total of 9 polishes, 4 Winter Blues and 5 Glitter Bombs, so this post will be picture heavy – but oh so worth it!

The Winter Blues collection consists of Keep it Glacial, Frosty Fierce, Bliz on the Wind, and Frosticles. I truly did love each of these polishes, which did surprise me a little as blue is not a color I wear a lot of. I get a lot of compliments wearing blue, but I’m not normally crazy about it on myself. Until now…
Keep it Glacial
Keep it Glacial is a rich medium blue that perfectly embodies its name. One of my favorites from this collection, this polish will leave you thinking cold arctic while feeling toasty warm. The formula was terrific and the nail art possibilities are practically endless, but being such a beautiful color it holds it’s own just as is. The swatches below are 2 coats with OTD top coat.
Frosty Fierce
Frosty Fierce is an icy pale blue that seems to glow with shimmers of blue. It definitely has a frosty feel to it, and again this one felt so nail art rich while completely holding it’s own. Such an easy formula to work with, the swatches below are 2 coats with OTD top coat.
Bliz on the Wind
Bliz on the Wind is a whole bottle of glittery goodness. It can be worn as a glitter topper or built up to full coverage in just a few coats. I decided to let it build up as I felt like all the glitter would just sparkle! The swatches below are 2 1/2 coats (last coat just dabbed on to light areas). One coat of Seche Vite top coat to smooth it right out.

Check out all that sparkle!!

Frosticles is an iridescent flakie top coat in a sheer blue jelly base. You get iridescent shifts of several shades of blue as well as purple with this. My swatch below is 2 coats over a dark navy base with OTD top coat.
The Glitter Bombs consist of Shocker, I Love Gold!, Cut Glass, Robozoid, and Fussy Hussy.
Shocker is a glitter bomb packed with various silver, holo, and iridescent glitters. On my original review of this polish (http://www.polishandpaws.com/2014/10/keep-your-eyes-peeled-for-zilla.html) I stated how unique this glitter topper is, and it still remains a favorite in my collection. This time I used it for a glitter gradient over Zoya Harlow.

I Love Gold!
I Love Gold! is much like a gold version of Shocker, although it seems to shine with more color and has more smaller glitters. Again I used it for a glitter gradient, this time over OPI Visions of Love. I got so many compliments on this 4 finger mani! The way I see it a mani has to be great to get compliments on just 4 fingers. 🙂
Cut Glass
Cut Glass is full of cranberry hex glitters, pink and purple small circle glitters and a fairly sparse combination of various colors and shapes. I actually did two mani’s with Cut Glass, just to show the various possibilities with this one.
The first swatches are a coat of Cut Glass over Milani A Rose my Lady.

Next I did a twist on a french mani using Zoya Paloma with Cut Glass sponged on the tips.
Robozoid is easily the most unique polish I have seen in a long time. Robozoid is basically a silver and holo glitter topper filled with large circular discs. This would be so great for a party or other fun event. The swatch below is 1 coat over Zoya Raven. It did require some fishing for the large disc glitters but that is to be expected with any glitter this size.
Fussy Hussy
Fussy Hussy is packed full with blue and silver small glitters as well as turquoise hex glitters and very large bright pink hex glitters. The swatch below is 2 coats over Zoya Josie, as well as a little fishing for the large pink glitters. Out of all the polishes she sent this was the only one that gave me any problems at all, I did end up with some thicker coats to get even coverage and therefore it took a bit  to dry. No big problems at all, just be aware that Fussy Hussy is a bit fussy! But would we expect any different from her? 🙂
So there you have it, all 9 polishes – 4 from Winter Blues and 5 from Glitter Bombs. I really did enjoy all these polishes but if I were to pick a favorite from each collection I would have to pick Bliz on the Wind and Shocker. Both of these collections release January 1, 2015. I can’t think of a better way to start off a new year!! 🙂 Zilla Lacquers is on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/ZILLA-5-Free-Lacquers/670697512996309
And of course the most important, you can purchase any of these on her Etsy shop starting January 1. https://www.etsy.com/shop/ZILLASHOP
And be sure to look for tomorrow’s blog post, where I will have some nail art looks using these polishes! Until then..
