Shinespark Polish ~ 90’s Kids Collection

Today I have the 90’s Kids Collection by Shinespark Polish to show you. I’ve seen lots of reviews and swatches for these, so I was eager to try them myself.

This collection includes 6 colors all inspired by Lisa Frank: Ballerina Bunny, Rainbow Chaser, Markie, Peek-a-boo, Dancing Dolphins, and Max Splash.

Ballerina Bunny
Ballerina Bunny is a neon pink jelly with soft shimmer throughout. The swatches below show 3 coats over a clear base. OTD top coat.

Rainbow Chaser
Rainbow Chaser is a neon orange jelly with a soft shimmer throughout. The swatches below are 3 coats over a white base coat. OTD top coat.

Markie
Markie is a neon yellow jelly with soft shimmer throughout. The swatches below are 3 coats over a white base coat. OTD top coat.

Peek-a-Boo
Peek-a-boo is a neon lime green jelly with soft shimmer throughout. The swatches below are 3 coats over a white base coat. OTD top coat.

Dancing Dolphins
Dancing Dolphins is a neon blue jelly with soft shimmer throughout. The swatches below are 3 coats over a white base coat.

Max Splash
Max Splash is a neon purple jelly with soft shimmer throughout. The swatches below are 3 coats over a white base coat. OTD top coat.

I found all of these to have a smooth, easy formula. Max Splash is easily my favorite from this collection. These are all quite sheer, as one would expect from a jelly, however they do not reach near opacity on their own without a white base coat. Ballerina Bunny is the exception to this, it reaches near opacity in 3 coats. I must say I was a bit disappointed with how sheer they were; as I pick out jellies because I love the squishy, shiny look that you get only from a jelly. Using a white base under them creates more of a straight creme look. Now I have seen many gorgeous swatches without white undies, but with a shorter nail length. I do have long nails and short nail beds so I have a significant free edge, which appears to make all the difference in the world with these. That was my only real downside I found, which isn’t necessarily a problem, just something to be aware of. With shorter nails they are spectacular and shiny, but if you have longer nails you might plan to use these with more of a “creme look”.
