Ahhh, LynB Designs!
LynB Designs is certainly not a new brand to the indie scene, but rather a well respected and established brand. I’ve bought quite a bit of her polish over the years, especially anything and everything Doctor Who related! This is however the first time I’ve had the privilege of reviewing LynB Designs on my blog, and I am admittedly pretty stoked! And you are about to see why…
The Staycation Collection is a collection of pastel neon cremes, based on famous vacation destinations of which many of us may never see. But with this collection you can stay home, relax, and imagine these exotic destinations just with the beautiful array of colors in the Staycation Collection.
LynB Designs Santorini
Santorini is a lime green neon creme. I love this color! I remember when I was little I thought only witches wore green polish, because my mother always wore green polish when she dressed as a witch on halloween. Well if that’s the case I am a witch through and through because I love green! The formula on this was a bit jelly like so I used 3 thin coats with glossy top coat.
LynB Designs Miami
Miami is a pastel neon coral creme polish. Zero application problems and full opacity in 2 easy coats. Topped with glossy top coat.
LynB Designs Bondi
Bondi is a pastel neon yellow creme. This had a crelly like formula but I was able to reach full opacity in 2 coats with a couple touch ups. Some trouble with self leveling. My swatches show 2 coats with glossy top coat.
LynB Designs Rio
Rio is a pastel pink neon creme. Formula was fantastic, I used 3 thin coats for my swatches. Glossy top coat.
LynB Designs Eleuthera
Eleuthera is a soft pastel neon purple, with pink undertones. This was more sheer than the others, a jelly type formula. I love how soft this is though! My swatches are 3 coats with glossy top coat.
LynB Designs Cabo
Cabo is a pastel peach neon creme. The formula was a bit crelly like but I was able to reach opacity in 2 coats with a couple touch ups. Self leveled nicely. My swatches show 2 coats with glossy top coat.
LynB Designs Oahu
Oahu is a pastel magenta neon creme. This was another favorite for me, it’s so perfectly pink and bright without being too bright! The formula was a little sheer, jelly like, but fully opaque in 3 coats. Glossy top coat.
LynB Designs Ibiza
Ibiza is a pastel blue neon creme. I had no problems at all with the formula. For these swatches I used 2 coats with glossy top coat. One more thin coat would give full opacity.
LynB Designs Bora Bora
Bora Bora is a galaxy type holographic topper. It adds just a little splash of sparkle to your favorite shades. Shown here is one coat over Ibiza, Miami, and Santorini.
My Thoughts: I found this collection to be well thought out and very cohesive. The formulas were fairly consistent, a couple were slightly more sheer than others but they all applied nicely. Bondi required a little more finesse as it didn’t want to self level, but it’s still very workable. I absolutely love these colors, and am a firm believer that everyone needs to own a good set of pastel neons. I use these types of colors all summer long, and halfway into fall, and a little bit throughout the rest of the year to help remind me that Summer will come again.
So do you have favorites from this collection? It was so hard for me to narrow it down; but Santorini, Miami, Rio, Cabo and Oahu are the real standouts for me.
This collection releases May 6 at 7pm EST. Each shade will retail for $6, or you can get the full collection for $50 with free US shipping.
Until next time, stay polished!
