Nanacoco Nail Polish ~ Swatch and Review

Do you have any polish in your collection that you just never use? Probably a lot. I know I do. I’ve had a few Nanacoco’s in my helmer that I’ve picked up over the years, and I’ve never gotten around to using them. So when I received some for review I was excited to finally try some. As press samples always get priority over my purchased polish.

Let’s take a look at these…

Pirate’s Bay

Pirates’s Bay is a teal green creme. It was a bit sheer on the first coat, think crelly type formula. But on the second coat it was fully opaque and self leveling. I love this color and I was pleasantly suprised with how well it applied. This is 2 coats with glossy top coat.

Time after Time

Time after Time is a deep ocean blue, not really navy, and leans more dusty than a classic cobalt blue. This had a little bit of a crelly formula as well, but again opaque and self leveled by the second coat. My swatches show 2 coats with glossy top coat.

U are my Sunshine

U are my Sunshine is a bright orange leaning red crelly polish. This had a more sheer formula than the rest. I used 3 coats and have a little nail line showing, mostly on close up. The formula was great though, a nice consistency that required virtually no clean up. My swatches show 3 coats with glossy top coat. This was nice and shiny even without top coat too.

Cats Black

Cats Black is a deep blackish-brown, or brownish-black. I’m not quite sure how to describe it but to me it leans more brown. But this shimmery shade is loaded with holographic microglitter, making this polish truly beautiful! This is 2 coats with glossy top coat.

My Thoughts: Perhaps most widely known for being a low cost brand, I was pleasantly surprised by these Nanacoco polishes. I have plenty of low cost or budget concious brands in my collection, after all we all started our polish habit somewhere.. and I can honestly say these didn’t feel like a budget polish while applying them. The formula was easy to work with and self leveled nicely. The smell was a bit stronger than some higher end brands, but not near as strong as some other low cost brands. But perhaps what really impressed me about this brand is that they offer a really good selection of jellies, glitter crellies, and even scattered holo’s; which we all know can be hard to find in mainstream budget brands.

Nanacoco also offers other beauty products ranging from lip gloss to color palettes. I was unable to find information in regards to if their polish is 3 or 5 free, but I will update this post when/if I can get a confirmation on that.

Nanacoco products can be found at a number of online retailers, including hbbeautybar.com, and typically retail starting around $2.99.

Do you have any Nanacoco polishes? What are your thoughts on these?

Did you see last weeks post on Eleccio Nail Lacquer? This high end salon quality lacquer is made by the same parent company as Nanacoco. So they have something for those with a more discerning taste as well.

Until next time, stay polished!
