China Glaze Seas and Greetings Collection ~ Holiday 2016

It’s officially the week of Thanksgiving. Seems so hard to believe, I haven’t even turned my heat on yet this year. Unfortunately instead we are being ravaged by wildfires and extreme drought. You hear that and you probably think California, surely not Tennessee. So I would be very thankful for some rain soon!

Okay, now on to today’s post. China Glaze really stepped outside the holiday collection box this year. In fact they went so far outside the box that they ended up on the beach celebrating Seas and Greetings! Let’s take a look…

China Glaze Joy to the Waves

China Glaze Joy to the Waves

Joy to the Waves is a medium blue with a strong gold to green shimmer.

This is definitely one of the standouts from this collection. China Glaze does shimmer so well. It was a bit on the sheer side, so I used 3 coats with glossy top coat.

China Glaze Warm Wishes

China Glaze Warm Wishes

Warm Wishes is a watermelon coral pink creme. It has the slightest amount of shimmer in the bottle, unfortunately it disappears on the nail.

Beautiful color regardless with a nice formula to match. My swatches are 2 coats with glossy top coat.

China Glaze Partridge in a Palm Tree

China Glaze Partridge in a Palm Tree

Partidge in a Palm Tree is a green mint with slight shimmer that dries to a matte finish.

Just skip this one. Formula is thick and hard to manage, and the polish cracked when it dried. I was able to cover up most of them by the third coat, but you can still see a crack on my index finger.

China Glaze Let’s Shell-ebrate

Let’s Shell-ebrate is a gold and purple glitter topper that can also build to opacity.

This can be worn as a topper over your favorite shade, or on it own in 3 coats. I’ve seen a few bloggers layer it over pink which looks fabulous, although I really like it on its own too.

China Glaze The More the Berrier

The More the Berrier is a metallic magenta pink with pink shimmer.

Definitely one of the more traditional holiday shades. Easy formula that can be a one coater if you’re rushing to get to a holiday party. I used 2 coats in my swatches. It’s a little brush stroke-y, but the pink shimmer does well at hiding most of that.

China Glaze Snow Way!

Snow Way! is a pearly white with gold shimmer.

You may remember Pearl Jammin’ from The Rebel Collection that became an overnight hit and one of the most sought after mainstream polishes of the year. Well, Snow Way is the little white sister to Pearl Jammin’. Just plan to pick this one up, you’ll want it for sure. Comparisons below.

China Glaze Twinkle Twinkle Little Starfish

Twinkle Twinkle Little Starfish is a soft sea green micro shard topper.

This topper looks great over black and many other shades, but I really like it over Joy to the Waves. 1 coat with top coat.

China Glaze Tis the Sea-sun

Tis the Sea-sun is a bright orange leaning coral creme.

Another bright beautiful coral. It is different than Warm Wishes though. I’ll throw in a comparison for you. This is 2 flawless coats with glossy top coat.

China Glaze Sand in my Mistletoes

Sand in my Mistletoes is a soft peach nude creme.

I love nudes so much!! And this soft peach toned fleshy nude is no exception. A bit streaky on the first coat, can be smoothed out in 2 coats using some extra care or 3 coats normally. Glossy top coat.

China Glaze Good Tide-ings

China Glaze Good Tide-ings

Good Tide-ings is a periwinkle creme.

Flawless formula and completely opaque in just one coat! Definitely add this one to the must have list. A good periwinkle can be hard to find, especially with an awesome formula like this!

China Glaze Seas and Greetings

China Glaze Seas and Greetings

Seas and Greetings is an amethyst purple with a strong pink shimmer.

Such a gorgeous shimmer! Another winner, opaque in 2 easy coats.

China Glaze Eat, Pink, Be Merry

China Glaze Eat, Pink, Be Merry

Eat, Pink, Be Merry is a soft rose pink with pink shimmer.

The pink shimmer is slightly more pronounced than my camera could capture. This is 2 coats with glossy top coat.

I love that China Glaze did something totally different this year, but at the same time it left me yearning for a couple more traditional holiday colors thrown into the mix. There are some clear winners though that will be equally great all year long.

My personal favorites from this collection; Joy to the Waves, Warm Wishes, The More the Berrier, Snow Way!, Sand in my Mistletoes, Good Tide-ings, and Seas and Greetings.

The Seas and Greetings collection is available now in stores and online at Sally Beauty / sallybeauty.com.

    Until next time, stay polished!

    • Naked Without Polish

I absolutely hate that Partridge in a Palm Tree has such a bad formula. The color is so good.

    • God lord these all look so amazing!!

    • I can’t wait to see these IRL

    • I love the shimmer in Joy to the Waves. I just wish it was a tad more opaque.

    • Jen Sky Walker

I’m a beach person, especially for the tropics, so I’m digging the different than usual colours this year. That being said, I’m so disappointed to here the formula of Partidge in a Palm Tree is so bad- I was looking forward to that one! I’m crossing my fingers mine isn’t as bad when I swatch later this week, but at least I’m prepared for the worst! Gorgeous photos!

    • Joy to the Waves is so gorgeous. Bummer that some of the formulas weren’t the greatest

    • I think this collection is so beautiful. Too bad the formula on some isn’t the best.

    • Tracey

This is one brand I’m still yet to try as I’ve heard they water marble really well. Shame about the formula, still look super pretty x

    • I like the colors but it’s just not a holiday collection to me. Even being from the tropics, we still want our traditional holiday colors, we have sun and surf and all things beachy year round, I want darker vampy tones, glitters, metallics, etc this time of year!
