Are you ever late to the party when it comes to trying new things? Like everyone you know is doing it and you hear about how much they love it, but you just never make the switch. And when you finally do you wonder why you waited so long? (Think – your parents and smart phones) Well I was totally that way with wax melts. I kept getting lots of samples in my indie bath and body orders, and I threw quite a few away before I decided I should probably pick up a warmer. But heres the really ironic part.. I had actually purchased a warmer a year earlier. It never made it out of the box. In one of my cleaning purges I decided I would probably never use it and I donated it to Goodwill. So I bought another warmer, unboxed it and plugged it in the moment it arrived. And the rest, as they say, is history. I have been melting wax every day since. Why did I wait so long to get on the wax bandwagon? I wish I knew. I have lots of time to make up for now though. So if you have not tried wax melts yet (incase I’m not the last in the world!) take it from me and give it a try. I have since tossed every candle I owned, except for the pretty ones that I never burn of course. Gotta keep those around. Now let me tell you about this wax melt from LynB Designs that is part of this months Indie Pickup.

If you are new to The Indie Pickup let me tell you a bit about it. The Indie Pickup works much like it’s sister, Polish Pickup. It is a 3 day preorder that takes place the third weekend of each month. It consists of a variety of indie made products;  cuticle oils, latex wrap, wax melts, bath bombs, jewelry, keychains, makeup, and probably a bunch more I haven’t even thought of. It is based on the same for of The Polish Pickup of the same month, so the theme for October is ‘Villians.’

LynB Designs The Purple Man Wax Melt

The Purple Man Wax Clamshell is a blend of coriander, lemon and warm spices. A subtle hint of tobacco leaf and vanilla, with a base of amber and warm tonka bean. This has a delicious fall scent that brings to mind falling leaves, sweaters, and hot tea. It has a really good throw and I easily got 8-10 hours burned in two intervals.

The Purple Man Wax Melt will only be available through The Indie Pickup Friday, October 19th at 11am EST through Monday, October 22nd at 11:59pm EST. It will retail for $4.00 and there will be no cap.
