Born Pretty Store Bunny Dream Thermal Gel Nail Polish ~ Swatch and Review

Hey peeps! I love thermal polishes, and I really love all the new tri thermal polishes despite them being crazy hard to swatch! 🙂 I’m always surprised by how many people say they don’t like thermals, although I know they aren’t near as fun on short nails. Some are turned off by the shelf life, which is typically said to be 6-12 months, although I have had my oldest thermals for 5 years and all but one are good as new. So are you one that loves or hates thermals? If you’re in the love club you will love todays post.

You know those perfect swatches that show every shade in a tri-thermal with perfectly uniform color shifts in straight lines? Yeah, you’re not going to see that here. I have exhausted all my techniques and I’m doing good to just get all 3 colors at once, to hell with perfectly uniform lines. So with that being said let’s jump into my completely imperfect swatches. After all aren’t we all mostly imperfect? 🙂

Bunny Dream is described as a peach to bright pink to dark purple tri-thermal gel polish. For my swatches I used 3 coats, cured for 30 seconds after each coat. Sealed with Gelish top coat. The color shifts are dramatic and shift easily, and I chose this one because I really like all 3 colors. That is always a plus with thermals!

Are you new to gel polish? Here are a few reasons I like gels: 1) You get a brilliant shine from gel that doesn’t dull over time like regular lacquer; 2) it is a great protective layer for those with weak or peeling nails. It allows many to grow out their nails that couldn’t otherwise; and 3) my favorite part is I can wear gel on my cindy (right) hand while I’m swatching and the acetone doesn’t really affect it, so I don’t have to redo my nails at the end of a long day.

Worried about hard removal? It is actually far easier than I originally thought. Just break the seal by roughing up the surface of the nail with a course nail file, soak your nails for approximately 10-15 minutes (I like to use nail clips to hold an acetone soaked cotton ball on the nail.. easy peasy!), gently scrape off any excess and apply your favorite cuticle oil to rehydrate your nails. Most of the time I can soak for as little as 5 minutes. Do be careful though and never forcefully peel the polish off (even if its started peeling on its own), as it’s likely to take a layer of your nail with it. Nail health is always the most important thing.

I agree, thermals are so hard to capture, but you did a great job. This is so beautiful xx

I have no idea how people get the perfect lines in swatches. Photoshop? You showed off all three colors well!

This is so very cool! I love thermals, but I hate having to photograph them, lol!
