Zoya Island Fun Collection ~ Summer 2015

Today I have the Summer 2015 Island Fun Collection by Zoya. These are the 6 cremes for this summer. The Paradise Sun Collection has more metallic finishes, and I will have those ready for you tomorrow. So let’s jump right in!

Jace
Jace is described as a modern tropical green in a full coverage and densely pigmented cream formula. I was a little disappointed with Jace. The formula was quite thin and required a full 3 coats for opacity. And for me personally I think Tilda and Josie are much prettier greens, and both have a better formula. Swatches below are 3 coats with OTD top coat.

Cecilia

Cecilia is described as a classic teal in a full coverage and densely pigmented cream formula. Celia is one of the winners of this collection, formula is spot on and no staining at all. Swatches below are 2 coats with OTD top coat.

Talia
Talia is described as a true turquoise in full coverage and densely pigmented cream formula. Warning: Stainer! You can see how much it stained my cuticles in just a few minutes. I had to really scrub my nails after this one to get all the staining off. Beautiful color with nice coverage, but consider yourself warned. 🙂

Serenity
Serenity is described as a summer purple in a full coverage and densely pigmented cream formula. But watch out, Serenity has a very strong smell. It dissipates as it dries but be prepared when you open the bottle. This could be isolated, I can’t be certain. Other than that no real problems with this one. Swatches below are 2 coats with OTD top coat.

Nana
Nana is described as a deep summer fuchsia in a full coverage and densely pigmented  cream formula. Nana is another with a very thin formula and required 3 full coats and you can still see just a bit of visible nail line if you look close. I love the color but I think there are many other fuschia pink cremes with better formulas than this one. Swatches are 3 coats with OTD top coat.

Demetria
Demetria is described as a vibrant poppy red in a full coverage and densely pigmented cream formula. Ohhh Demetria you are a winner! Formula is spot on and it is definitely a bright summer red. 3 coats with OTD top coat.

I really love the colors of this collection, but overall in terms of formula only 2 (Cecilia & Demetria) have the smooth creamy formula I have come to expect from Zoya. Overall I have to say I’m a little disappointed. It’s an okay collection, but its not a stand apart winner. They will still hold a place in my beloved Zoya colllection of course, but the majority of these will not be my “go to cremes” that so many of my Zoya are. I will be back tomorrow with the Paradise Sun collection. Until then, stay polished!
