Firecracker Lacquer Fantastical Beasts Collection (partial)

Good morning friends! I have a new-to-me indie brand to show you today. I luuuuuvvv getting to introduce you to new brands! This collection is in honor of  Harry Potter’s birthday, The Fantastical Beasts Collection. The collection features magical and marvelous creatures in the wizarding world. (In interest of full disclosure I’m not exactly a Harry Potter expert, so bear with me!) 🙂

Dragons Can Be Pink, Too!
Dragons Can Be Pink, Too! is a delightful lacquer created for dragons – giant winged, fire-breathing beasts – though pink dragons are a less represented subset of the species. A bold raspberry crelly scattered with white, opal, and iridescent glitters in varying shapes and sizes.

With the first coat of this one I had some balding and dragging, but the second coat cleared it up. I added a third coat just to be sure to cover any thin spots. I didn’t do any fishing for glitters. One coat of Seche Vite top coat to finish it off. I love how bold this one is!

The Power of the Horn
The Power of the Horn is an unearthly lacquer based on unicorns – wondrous and incredibly rare beasts whose blood can provide extended life to a person, though at a cost. A bright silver frosty lacquer with a linear holographic shine

The formula on this one was smooth and creamy with no application problems at all. My swatches are 2 coats with HK Girl top coat.

Not so Pretty Afterall
Not so Pretty Afterall is a magnificent lacquer designed with merpeople in mind – beasts that live underwater and have wondrous singing voices, but are not quite as they seem. A soft aqua lacquer with matte white and holographic green and blue glitters.

I experienced no formula issues with this one. It went on smooth, and I didn’t have to fish for any glitters. My swatches are 3 thin coats with Seche Vite top coat.

Pros: A very unique cohesive collection that will appeal to Harry Potter or wizarding fans everywhere. Great packaging and attention to detail. 5-Free and Cruelty-Free.

Cons: Just the little bit of dragging with Dragons Can Be Pink, Too! I was able to get it mostly smoothed out on the second and third coat. No formula issues at all on the others.

My Thoughts: Overall I quite like these. The polish was a good consistency and self leveled well. I was impressed with the packaging, which was very well put together and was truly fun to open. All polishes are 5-free, vegan, and cruelty free.

The collection will be available Friday July 31st at 6pm MST, at www.firecrackerlacquer.com. There will be seven polishes total in this collection, with prices ranging from $9.50 to $11.00 per bottle.
