Essie Leggy Legend Collection ~ Fall 2015

Good afternoon ladies! Today I have the Essie Polish Leggy Legend Fall 2015 collection. I debated a bit about whether to pick this one up, as let’s face it I have more cremes than I know what to do with, and I generally prefer lighter colors. But in the end it really came down to the fact I wanted to share them with you my readers, as I know there aren’t typically a lot of Essie swatches. So let’s take a look!

With the Band
With the Band is a brick red creme, one coat for opacity. This color definitely speaks fall. My swatches are 2 coats with OTD top coat.

Frock n’ Roll
Frock n’ Roll is a deep grey taupe with purple undertones and a strong silver shimmer. It’s quite a chameleon as it looks very different in different lights. This is quite unique to my collection and I can see wearing it a lot. One coat for opacity, my swatches are 2 coats with OTD top coat.

Bell Bottom Blues
Bell Bottom Blues is a deep navy with lots of teal shimmer. The bottle shows a definite purple duochrome effect, unfortunately none of that came through on the nail. It’s a pretty color still, but a bit disappointing, and it smeared and stained on removal. I almost never have staining problems so the few times I do I make certain to mention it! My swatches are 2 coats with OTD top coat.

Leggy Legend
Leggy Legend is a gold/copper/bronze metallic finish. One of the more unique colors in this collection. Again opacity can be reached in one coat, but my swatches are all 2 coats with OTD top coat.

Color Binge
Color Binge is a bright coral/orange leaning slightly red. I love that Essie was bold enough to include this in their fall collection. This could be a summer, fall, or transition color. The formula was super smooth, and one coat is fully opaque. My swatches are 2 coats with OTD top coat.

In the Lobby
In the Lobby is a burgundy jelly formula. The first coat was pretty patchy on this one, but I was able to get it evened out on the 2nd coat. My swatch is 2 coats with OTD top coat.

My thoughts: The most common complaint I hear about Essie polish is that they are too thin and watery. Nothing could be further from the truth for this collection. The consistency is perfect on each of these, no cuticle flooding, no pooling of the polish. With the exception of In the Lobby; each one has a great easy formula with most reaching full opacity in one coat. I still recommend 2 coats for color saturation. The most unique colors are Leggy Legend and Frock n’ Roll. The rest are nice but nothing new really. I personally would skip Bell Bottom Blues and In the Lobby. These are easy enough to find others like them, and probably even with a better formula.

Essie Polish is available on Essie.com and beauty supply stores nationwide.
