I have found, over and over again, that indie bath and body products are superior to anything you can pick up in a drug store. Along those lines I have a new product to introduce you all to. Smokey Mountain Lacquer is releasing her new body lotion soon. I’ve been trying it out for the last couple weeks and I’m ready to share my thoughts with you.
I’ve been using this body lotion every night for about 2 weeks now. I already have a very religious skin care routine, especially during the winter. And I’m admittedly a bit obsessive compulsive about my feet, I can’t stand for my feet to be anything but baby butt smooth. Now honestly I have no idea what a babys butt feels like, but thats the saying so I’m gonna go with it.
I started by comparing the ingredients in this lotion to my current winter body butter. I personally like something with shea butter for winter use, and especially for areas like feet. These lighter lotions are perfect for spring and summer though. I did find that I love this for use on hands, arms and shoulders particularly. It is scented, although lightly scented. Mine was Warm Vanilla Sugar, which is a scent that can be overpowering especially if you’re sensitive. I am very sensitive to scents but I didn’t have any issues with this. It was subtle but there, and not overpowering at all.
The consistency is nice, not too watery like some lotions can be but not as heavy as a butter. It has a light airy consistency and leaves parched skin feeling nourished and rejuvenated, with some very soft notes of fragrance. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave the skin feeling heavy or greasy at all. The last photo was taken less than a minute after applying it to my hands. As you can see it soaked up nicely and my hands are left soft and supple.
Smokey Mountain Lacquers body lotions’ will debut at The Indie Shop Atlanta on March 24th for $7 for a 4 ounce jar. Initially it will be available in 2 scents; Warm Vanilla Sugar and Orange. After the show they will then be available online on Smokey Mountain Lacquers shop.
