The Digit-al Dozen does Stamping: Trains

Hi ladies! As you know this week is the Digital Dozen and it totally snuck up on me. I’ve been fighting a nasty head cold for a week now and I’m still not over it. So some most of my manis this week are very simple. I know last month I went on and on about going all out but sometimes simple is all you can do, not to mention sometimes simple is best.

The theme this month is stamping and I’ve been wanting to use this plate for forever. Why trains? Well my husband and I share a lot of the same interests, and trains is one of those. We have built model railroads, and toured Railroad Museums. I have used a lot of great train photos to decorate the house, and we love to do train rides whenever possible. We’ve done the Secret City Excursion, Hiwassee Loop, Missionary Ridge, Chattanooga Dinner Train, Steamtown Scranton PA, and the White Pass Summit Excursion. Which reminds me we have lots more train rides to do and we’re not getting any younger!

For this mani I used Painted Polish Stamped in Taupe, Painted Polish Midnight Mischief, Bundle Monster Time Machine Plate BM-XL135, and Blush Lacquers Matte-terial Girl Top Coat.

Do any of you have a fascination with trains too? Like I said it’s simple, but I love the simplicity of it. Check out the link up below to see what the other ladies did for today!

There’s nothing wrong with simple. In fact, I think some of the most beautiful manis are, and some of the worst looks are when people go for complex not because it suits the design, but just to be complex. This mani is elegant, retro, and stylish–simple, but not simplistic. And, you made me fall in love with that plate and now I have to buy it, darn it!

I hear you with a head cold. I can’t seem to shift mine šŸ™ this looks amazing. I don’t have a train image plate.

  • Ehmkay Nails

This is such a fun plate! The overall look is really simple but Iā€™m obsessed with it!

  • I loooooove trains with a passion. When I was 20, I spent my junior year of college in Paris. My favorite thing in the world was taking a train from Paris to Florence. It was an overnight trip leaving in the evening and arriving early the next morning. I would book one of their sleepers and arrive the next morning in my favorite city in the whole world. I also once did a Rome to Paris train ride which was considerably longer–don’t recommend it. lol Still, i love trains. This is such a simple but beautiful mani.

  • These are so eye catching! This is a perfect example of Less Is More. It’s also great because it’s a meaningful subject for you which meant we learned something interesting about you. Win, win!

Coolest stamp EVER! I love this!

  • I don’t think I’ve ever seen a train stamp before, but it’s so cool!! This whole look is so clean, nice work!

  • I love this. Everything you chose for this is perfect.

  • This is such a fabulous mani! The colors, the stamps, the finish…you totally nailed it.
