The Digit-al Dozen does Stamping: Gradient Stamping

Last year we saw a new stamping plate maker come on the scene, and with it we saw some very new unique images! I’m referring to Lina Stamping Plates. To me the quality and price of these plates line up with UberChic except they have a very different feel to them. UberChic does a lot of florals. I do mean A LOT. The Lina Make Your Mark series has a fun, retro, grunge feel to them and they are a welcome relief into my stamping plate collection.

One of these plates in particular really jumped out at me as I had never seen anything like it. It allows you to create a full gradient without ever touching a sponge. This is Make Your Mark 03 and it has an amazing blank image. Yes, a blank image. Apply a few colors, scrape until you get a nice blend, pick up with your stamper and Voila! Instant beautiful gradient.

For my gradient I used the following colors.

  • Sally Hansen Crayola Insta-Dri Cerulean
  • Sally Hansen Crayola Insta-Dri Carnation Pink
  • Sally Hansen Crayola Insta-Dri Sunset Orange

You can see what a great gradient I was able to do using this method. But I couldn’t leave it at that could I? Of course not! My gradient needed some watermarble stamping. It seemed appropriate as it wasn’t all that long ago that you couldn’t do either of these techniques with stamping. For the rest of this mani I used two images from Whats Up Nails Water Marble Plate B002.

So hows that for a fully stamped mani? No applying coats of polish in this mani at all. It’s not a look I would normally wear, but it’s fun for art definitely! Click through the link up below to see what the others have created for today!
