The Digit-al Dozen does Books: Flowers in the Attic

It’s time for another Digital Dozen week ya’ll! Truth be told I was dreading this theme, even tried to talk myself into skipping it but I just couldn’t do that. Besides I may need that get-out-of-jail-free card for later in the year! LOL I kid, I kid. The theme this month is books, and I haven’t read a full book in probably 20 years. I’ve started a few, but rarely make it more than a few chapters in. But I only had to find 5 books and once I started thinking it was easy to come up with 5 books that meant something to me. So let’s jump into my first mani… PolishandPaws Digital Dozen Flowers in the Attic book mani *includes press samples

Flowers in the Attic by VC Andrews

The first book I chose is VC Andrews Flowers in the Attic, a veritable right of passage for any teenage girl in the 80’s-90’s. I read the others in the same series as well, but this was the first and the one that really stayed with me all these years. And aside from a particularly awful looking “person” (I use that term lightly) I’m fairly pleased with how this turned out. PolishandPaws Digital Dozen Flowers in the Attic book mani I may have mentioned a hundred few times how bad I am at freehand, and this theme pushed me but I’ll never get better if I don’t practice (or I may just never get better regardless.) For this mani I started with the obvious black base, and using some Sally Hansen pastels I stamped on some flowers, and the signature VC. Then I started free-handing the girl in the attic. It’s far from perfect, but it is what it is.

I hope you liked my Day 1 mani despite my lack of freehand experience. I’ll be back tomorrow with another book themed manicure. I only chose books that meant something to me, so I’m proud of all of them for that reason. Be sure to check out the link up below to see what the other ladies did for today.

I sincerely hope you will not be offended — and god knows, I do not even attempt freehand art — your person made me giggle because the person looks naked. Naked Person in the Attic. ;-D
