Nail Art ~ Square Hue December ~ 2010 Decades Collection Giveaway

Good Morning lovelies! Today I have something a little new and different for you. Each month I will be doing some beginners nail art tutorials using the polishes from the monthly Square Hue subscription box. The 3 polishes in this months box, which is the December 2010 decades collection, are Olympiad (a sheer foil gold), Bird Fling (a bright christmas red creme), and Baby, Baby, Baby (a microshimmer purple).

The first mani I have to show you is a simple christmas mani (or year round) using Olympiad and Bird Fling. 





Items used: 
Orly Rubberized Base Coat
Square Hue Olympiad
Square Hue Bird Fling
Curved nail vinyls
HK Glisten & Glow top coat

I started with 2 coats of Bird Fling on all my nails. After your polish is *completely* dry align a curved nail vinyl to the side of the nail then paint Olympiad in the side section of your nail. If you have steady hands you can probably free hand this, I however do not have steady hands. Before your polish is dry remove the nail vinyls. Then gently glide on a thick coat of HK Girl Glisten & Glow. All done!





For this next look I started with 3 coats of Baby, Baby, Baby on all nails. Once completely dry I used triangle shaped french tip guides to paint my tips with Olympiad. Again, if you have a steady hand this can be freehanded without guides. 






I found Olympiad to be very interesting as the shade appeared to change based on the polish I paired it with. On the first mani it appears gold next to the red, but on this mani it leans more pewter next to the purple. Very interesting shade.
